The project materials are in the four shelves that are under the desk. As you can see, some of my shoes are stored in here as well. That frees up some space in our bedroom closet for other things.
On my husband's side of the office, there are 2 Billy book cases flanking the desk. The left Billy is the fabric storage closet. You can find more info about that here.
The right Billy book case is basically my husband's area to store things. I think he has 3 shelves in the whole room. The rest is all my stuff.
His side has the mail sorter shelf. You can find more info about that here.
This cabinet is where I store my sewing stuff and the overflow of fabric from the fabric closet.
The last Billy book case stores my photo equipment, various types of paints and hardware (nails, screws, etc.)
Under the middle desk is where I store my step stool, the dog pillows and my cutting mat (not visible in the photo). My husband made a custom shelf for the cutting mat to lay flat and out of the way.
The bulletin board is a perfect place to pin paint samples, coupons and receipts. I made this with left over materials in a very generic fashion thus no tutorial about it.
The rod under the bulletin board can hang pictures or fabric swatches.
There you have it. If you couldn't tell, I love organizing things. I get such joy knowing where everything is.
Oh and by the way, if you were wondering why i didn't include the closet in this post, it is because I converted this closet into our hall/linen closet. It doesn't really have office/craft room related items in it. I guess it has a few, but mainly it stores our toilet paper, hair products and that kind of stuff. I will do a more thorough post about that here soon.
I'd love to hear your comments on my office/craft room organization and if you missed the room reveal you can check it out here.

Oh my, that room is spectacular. I am quite jealous, I have a tiny small cupboard to store my craft items, ad even then I have to store other things in there as well, minimising my actual craft storage space.
ReplyDeleteWe are moving soon so hoping that our next place is bigger to fit in more storage. I can only hope one day to achieve a space as gorgeous and practical as yours.
Thanks for sharing, that room is so inspiring, you are very good at organising!!!
Just popping by from the Sew Many Ways Link Party, would love it if you could visit me back soon :)

This is gorgeous! I've been recently inspired to look up storage solutions for studio apartments since I have a ton of crafty stuff and yet it's my dream to live in a studio. This post really helped and your system looks so pretty!
ReplyDeleteVery nice makeover. My craft area is very small too. Great use of space!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!
